Maldives
The thila is about 300 m long and 80 m wide, and its southwest side is crisscrossed by colorful overhangs. Large groupers, turtles, lobsters, long-nosed hawkfish and small shrimp can be seen there, along with soft corals and a great gorgonian field. With a bit of luck, nurse sharks are also seen. Raa Atoll can be dived all year, but the sea tends to be calmer during the northeast monsoon, from January to May. In the region, the dry season, from December to May, tends to bring little wind and glassy seas.
