At the reef corner that drops into the channel, eagle rays, tuna and schooling jacks appear. The spotted eagle ray can also be seen. The best season is usually from November to April. Dhaalu has around five channels on its western edge and ten on the eastern side, and the currents that run through them bring nutrients that support healthy reefs and plenty of pelagic life. In Dhaalu and Faafu, hawksbill and green turtles are seen year-round feeding on the reefs.
