Maldives
Kuda Hafsa is tiny, elongated and narrow, and it descends steeply. Despite its size, diving it even twice in the same morning won't disappoint. It is a very small site, described as totally different from the others in the area, with a big coral block on top.
The site attracts grey reef sharks, batfish, dogtooth tuna and other tuna. On a 50-minute dive circling the long, thin reef, snapper were everywhere, mixing with shoals of goatfish, fusiliers and anthias, and thousands of glassfish gathered under every overhang.
On that same dive, a scorpionfish was camouflaged in the coral, and an eagle ray passed close to the group. The best season usually runs from January to May.
