Maldives
Marine life ranges from small shrimps to lots of fish, and dolphins may also appear. The reef slopes down, with hard and soft corals and caves, and frequently seen species include wrasses, surgeonfish, parrotfish, bannerfish, lots of fusiliers, unicornfish, butterflyfish, triggerfish, sea whips, black corals and Tubastrea corals. Upstream of the wall there is a small thila, suited to nitrox and the deep diving specialty. Diving is usually possible in almost any month, with warm water and calm surface conditions, except during the June monsoon; the water usually stays between 27 and 30 °C.
