Maldives
The site descends in steps, with plateaus at 20, 25 and 30 m formed by long, narrow overhangs. On the east side, the terraces give way to canyons and cave-like overhangs. The plateau has a beautiful hard coral garden, good for ending the dive. There are many schools of fish, and large tuna hunt in the channel. This channel, Kandoodhoo Kandu, separates Raafushi from Dhonaerikadoodhoo, in Noonu Atoll. In the northern atolls, the northeast monsoon (December to April) usually gives the best visibility.
