HMS Attack was a British Acheron-class destroyer launched in 1911. On 30 December 1917, she came alongside the transport Aragon, which had just been torpedoed off Alexandria, and took on 300 to 400 survivors before being torpedoed herself. The German submarine UC-34 torpedoed first the Aragon and then the Attack, while the destroyer was rescuing survivors at the entrance to Alexandria harbour. When a dive team located the wreckage, they found the Aragon and the Attack sunk together, exactly in the harbour's boat entrance channel. In Alexandria, the best time to dive is usually from June to October, when the sea is generally calm; in winter, the storms known as nawaa make diving unpredictable.
