The site is a small indentation in the outer reef of Himmiya Faru, 500 m north of the Makunudhoo Kandu corner. Just out from the main reef there is a small thila. In the neighborhood, the north side of the Makunudhoo Kandu channel has been declared a Marine Protected Area. The Makunudhoo Kandu Olhi (Kaafu) protected area has a protection date of 27 September 1995.
