In Dhivehi, "faru" means a reef edge that rises above the water and encloses a lagoon. Around Sirru Fen Fushi you can see pelagic fish and large animals: eagle rays, marble rays, grey reef sharks, white tip reef sharks, silvertip sharks and even guitar sharks. In the Sirru Fen Fushi area, manta rays tend to roam between December and April. In the northern atolls, the best time to dive tends to run from December to April.
