Egypt
The reef's Arabic name, Scha'ab Surūr, means "reef of joy", and local fishermen call it Sha'ab en-Neghs. It is a rarely dived site, recommended as an afternoon dive. The reef is rich in hard corals, with huge table corals, and on the sandy slope there are small coral pillars covered with soft corals and surrounded by thousands of glassfish. A large brain coral usually marks the end of the dive. Sometimes dolphins pass by on their way to Sha'ab Ali.
