El Kahf is a canyon full of small caves and passages, marked by massive coral boulders and sandy ravines. In the area, a channel of white sand between the drop-off south of the pontoon and the canyons is home to a pair of pegasus fish, pipefish, snake eels, nudibranchs, blue-spotted stingrays and schools of Indian mackerel. One dive through the small canyons of Zerib Kebir recorded many fish, among them Pseudochromis fridmani, surgeonfish, scorpionfish and barracudas.
