Maldives
The hard coral gardens of Egaara Thila hold schools of bluestripe snappers, with surgeonfish, angelfish and damselfish nearby. Turtles visit the site often, and octopus hide among the corals. In Lhaviyani Atoll, shark encounters tend to be more likely from December to April. The chances of diving with manta rays in the region, in turn, tend to be higher from May to December.
