Maldives
On the top of the reef there are healthy hard corals, and at the corner many green turtles can be seen resting. Large schools of jacks, snappers, rainbow runners, skipjack tuna, surgeonfish and fusiliers are commonly seen. There are also white tip, black tip and grey reef sharks. Diving during the incoming current is recommended, since most of the fish activity at the corner happens then; when the current is weak, it is possible to cross the channel toward Kondey. In the region, the outer reefs of Huvadhoo form a discontinuous barrier against the Indian Ocean, with 40 reef segments separated by deep channels.
