Egypt
Right at the start of the dive at Castle Beach live seahorses, Pegasus and various nudibranchs. In 2008, the site was one of the Egyptian stations of a regional coral survey that had not covered it in 2002.
The Castle Beach camp was set up by Mutawea, a Bedouin of the Tarabeen tribe, when he was in his mid-twenties, nearly a quarter of a century before 2016. Ras Shitan (or Ras Shaitan), the name of the area, means "Devil's Head" in colloquial Arabic.
