Bodu Faru Caves

The Bodu Faru Caves are several small overhangs and one large one in the wall of the Bodu Faru reef, a large reef complex that drops off steeply. Table corals grow on the steep slopes and, in the shallower parts, there are many staghorn corals. Divers have seen a leaf scorpionfish on a piece of algae there, schools of fusiliers, triggerfish and parrotfish. On one dive day, the boat followed a large pod of dolphins to the reef. In Meemu Atoll, the best diving conditions tend to be in the dry season, from December to April, with light winds and little rain. The monsoon usually runs from May to November and, around June, the sea is sometimes too rough for boats, so it is worth confirming that operators are going out.
