Maldives
Blue Cove was used for sampling during the first Maldives Coral Reef Biodiversity Workshop, held in May 2014 at the MaRHE Centre in Magoodhoo. A field course also carried out a census there of the grouper species that lived in a demarcated area.
During the 2014 collections, divers gathered the shrimp Palaemonella sandyi here, which lives associated with the coral Euphyllia glabrescens. In the sediment, a specimen of the amphipod Ingolfiella maldivensis was collected, described as a new species. The site provided type material (paratypes) of these two species, described as new from the 2014 collections. In March 2016, researchers recorded polyps of the hydrozoan Zanclea sp. 1 there.
