Egypt
As at Umm Gamar, North Abu Ramada has a Halg (Arabic for "neck") on its east side, which offers the boat a place to moor. Apart from the Halg, North Abu Ramada is usually too rough for the boat to moor. The wall is richly covered with big gorgonians and soft corals.
In the area of the northern plateau of Abu Ramada live snappers, surgeonfish, fusiliers, mackerels, barracudas and whitetip reef sharks. Mobulas and whale sharks have been sighted along this plateau. In the North Abu Ramada area, eagle rays also pass by in squadrons of up to twelve, flying in formation.
