Egypt
Abu Lou Lou has so many lionfish that it earned the nickname 'lionfish city', and it is also home to morays and the common Red Sea fauna. The entire site works as a series of cleaning stations and draws underwater photographers year after year, and photos taken there have won many competitions. In a seagrass bed, green turtles often feed and you can find ghost pipefish, pygmy pipehorses and seahorses. Stonefish, frogfish and scorpionfish also show up. It is considered a good site for night dives and for checkout dives. In the Nuweiba area, the best season is usually May-June and September-November, while from January to April the sea usually gets colder and there are usually strong chilly winds.
