Maldives
On the west side there is an overhang with soft corals and, deeper down, a gap where the giant moray eels and cleaner shrimp live. There are also shrimp, groupers, snails, scorpionfish, stonefish and octopuses, and, with some luck, eagle rays. In the Raa region, the dry season (December to May) usually has little wind and glassy seas. In the rainy season (June to November), the wind usually brings plankton blooms that attract manta rays to the region's cleaning stations. In Raa Atoll, manta rays can be seen all year round.
